About Me
I'm Usama — a senior software engineer who works on the systems businesses actually depend on. Day to day I own a production ERP/CRM platform built on PHP/MySQL: sales, inventory, shipping and finance, plus the integrations that hold it together.
I'm at my best inside existing, messy, business-critical software — the kind with years of history, real users, and no room for downtime. I like finding the actual cause of a slow query or a fragile integration and fixing it properly, then leaving the system a little easier to maintain than I found it.
Most of my work is backend and data-heavy: APIs, database performance, legacy modernization and third-party integrations. I care more about systems that keep running than about chasing the newest framework — and I work best with teams who value that too.

What Drives Me
The principles and values that guide my work and collaborations
Ownership
I take responsibility for the outcome, not just my slice of code. If it breaks in production, that matters to me.
Root-cause first
I diagnose the actual problem before proposing a fix, rather than patching symptoms and hoping.
Production stability
Changes are made carefully and reversibly. Keeping a business-critical system running comes first.
Pragmatism
The smallest practical solution usually wins. I avoid unnecessary rewrites and over-engineering.
Clear communication
I explain trade-offs in plain language so non-engineers can make informed decisions.
Maintainability
I leave systems easier to work with than I found them — for the team that inherits them.
